The Hellenic Rose Society was founded in 1996 by Mr. Damianos Constantinou. The Society's Historic Rose Garden is situated in the building complex of the "Centre for Hellenism Damianos Foundation", which is located 75 kms southwest of Athens, near the Corinth Canal.
The first issue of the Hellenic Rose Society's biannual periodical, named TO POΔON (in Greek) and The Rose (in English), appeared in the spring of 1998.
