The Japan Rose Society was founded in 1948 and became a juridical foundation in 1962, authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture. The purposes of the Society are to encourage people to plant roses throughout the country, to preserve a pleasant environment, and to promote the exchange of information on roses among rose lovers of the world.
The Japan Rose Society conducts International Rose Trials every year in cooperation with Metropolitan Metropolis at the Jindai Botanical Garden.
It publishes a monthly journal, Rose Letter, and an Annual Report for members. It also gives national and local Rose Exhibitions in spring and in autumn. A unique activity of the Society is to provide a newly bred rose for its members every spring.
Fees:
Regular members - ¥ 10,000 annually
Nurseries and Distributors - ¥ 30,000 annually
Corporate - ¥ 100,000 annually
