The Association was established in December 1990 at Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with 30 members. Now we have 1700 members. There are 14 branches (district societies), located primarily in the western part of the country, but the last, from Bucharest, is in the south east. The headquarters is in Cluj-Napoca. The activities in these branches include pruning demonstrations, rose exhibitions, slide and video presentations about roses in the country and abroad, visits to rose gardens, symposiums and participation in our Annual General Meetings and WFRS conventions and regional conferences.
The society bulletin, ROSARIUM, is published twice a year. Each issue consists of 24-28 polychrome pages and 4 color cover pages. It also has a short summary in English since the publication is sent to 23 other national Rose Societies with whom we try to exchange publications.
